In early 2008, Google Chrome was
released as a beta. Later that year, the wide web browser was
released to the wider market. With each passing year, more and more
users decided to try out Chrome, as more positive reviews were heard
about it. In June of 2012, Google Chrome sits at the top of the heap
as one of the most commonly used web browsers in the entire world. In
a market that for years has been dominated by Internet Explorer and
Mozilla Firefox(and earlier Netscape), what is it that makes Google
Chrome the top of the heap.
While Google in general has its share
of critics and they are well founded, there are people who will swear
by their web browser being the absolute top of the mark. With each
passing year since 2008, many people who felt as if other browsers
did not fit the mark, they kept trying out Chrome. Google adapted the
browser, fitting the widest audience possible and the audience has
grown to an amazing level.
So what does make Google Chrome tick?
What makes it so appealing to such a wide audience of end users?
The key is the simplicity of the Google
Chrome browser. When you look at the browser, it is not that all
remarkable at all with the features. Yet, simplicity is the best
approach to reach the most audiences. As you may find when developing
software, people are simple. They do not have the time to learn
things, so they would like something where they can dive into. Google
Chrome offers that simplicity and offers the ability for anyone to
jump online and get straight to work.
Another key benefit is that it is not
that all resource demanding. Not everyone can afford a top of the
line computer, so they need a browser that is not going to slow down
their machine or even cause it to lock up. Chrome is the Internet
browser for low resources at a high quality. One the key criticisms
for Microsoft's Internet Explorer and to a greater extent Mozilla
Firefox, is that it can be a bit of a hog on the resources.
Even the competitors understand that
Chrome is gaining some traction in the land of the Internet Web
Browser. The rapid fire updates by Firefox have been following
Chrome's lead, with some of the more recent updates having features
that many may recognize from Chrome. The new and improved tabs seem
to remind many users of Chrome. Which proves once again that
imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
If Google Chrome is going to stay the
path that they are right now, they will continue to remain the top of
the line in the Internet Browser market. Being extremely user
friendly and also not that all demanding, Google Chrome is fast and
reliable. Say what you want about Google, but they can put together
an Internet Browser.
