Malwarebytes Version Number Changes Explained

After all of this time, Malwarebytes has decided to change the numbering system for their popular malware fighting software, obviously entitled Malwarebytes. It is a bit of a step differently, from those who are used to database version 8000 or whatever. At first, the numbers were jammed together but with the latest updates, they are more formatted in an smarter way.

New Malwarebytes Number Changes. 
 
The new Malwarebytes format goes vYYYY.M.D.N

With v=version

Year=The year it was released.

Month=the month released.

Day=the day of the month.

N=the number of that particular database released that day.

So the latest version of Malwarebytes would be version v2011.12.30.02, for the second database released on December 30th 2011, but naturally given the various strains of Malware out on the web, this will be something that can change in a snap.
